Immerse yourself in 8 bite-sized short films featuring stories on food, farming, and wine. A fan favorite at the FORK2FILM Festival, we brought this curated program of stellar shorts back for CINEMABITES!
Savor culinary treats based on the films, created by David Katz/Panevino, Chef Christine Muller and more! Wine, beer and fountain drinks will be available for purchase at Concessions.
DOORS OPEN at 5:30 pm and the program SCREENS at 6:00 pm.
Tickets are $35 and proceeds support the St. Helena Farmers' Market.

All Choked Up – A humorous view of a woman who must decide whether to save her irritating husband when he starts choking on a sandwich during lunch. Directed by Allison Volk.
Edson’s Gravy – Based on Russell Edson's classic poem, "Gravy" is a whimsical ode to a timeless condiment. Directed by Ryan George Kittleman.
Leonie, Skeet, and the Piglets – Leonie’s dream is to become a pig farmer like her parents. She happily wanderings around with her best friend, Skeet the cat, and helps out in any way possible: fertilizing the sows, tending to the pigs and helping load the fully grown hogs onto the truck that will bring them to the slaughterhouse. However, new laws surrounding nitrogen emissions set by the government are threatening Leonie’s parents’ life’s work Together with Skeet, Leonie sees the last pigs disappear from the farm and realizes that her dream of living as a pig farmer might not come true. Directed by Jip Heijenga.
Spring Roll Dream – Linh is a Vietnamese single mother who’s successfully forged a life for herself and her son in America. But when her father visits from Vietnam and insists on cooking the family a traditional Vietnamese meal, Linh is confronted with the past and culture she left behind and the question of where it belongs in her family’s new life. Directed by Mai Vu.
The Battle of Tita and the Machines – IIn a near future where Artificial Intelligence in the workforce is a societal norm, Tita, an injured and elderly fieldworker, reluctantly hires an artificially intelligent humanoid substitute worker to fill in for her picking strawberries and unexpectedly attracts the curiosity of the creators of this technology when their AI workers are unable to do her back-breaking work. Directed by Miguel Angel Caballero.
Waiter for Life –An intimate look at a group of long-time waiters at San Francisco’s Scoma’s Restaurant, Waiter for Life pays homage to the American dream: immigrant stories, connections between people, and, of course, food. Directed by Dan Goldes.
Way of the Shepherd – Away from his family for up to 3 years at a time, Peruvian shepherd, Christian Aliaga works the hillsides of northern California with a massive herd of goats and two exceptional Border Collies. Together they roam the land conducting wildfire mitigation with their old-world, natural approach to vegetation management. Christian shares his affinity for nature, the animals he works with, and a glimpse at his timeless trade in the modern age. Directed by Matthew Boyd.
Whit’s End – In the funky neighborhood of Rockaway Beach, NYC, culinary maverick Whit Aycock blends local seafood with his southern roots and iconic vibe to find redemption through food, cooking and community. Directed by Andrew Quinn.
