Time to shake off those winter blues. Join us for a night of Blues and Jazz, featuring the Larry Vuckovich Jazz Quartet. Leader and pianist LARRY VUCKOVICH, has performed with such greats as Cab Calloway, Dexter Gordon, Tony Bennett and Mel Torme among others.
Featured artist is guitarist ALVON JOHNSON, who travels the world singing and swinging Jazz standards. Internationally, Alvon is known to as the “King of the Blues."
Among his many awards, he is the recipient of the Music Icon Award from the Black Music Association & Academy of America; Best Male Blues Artist from the Black Music Association & Academy Of America in 2015; 2005 Blues Guitar Player of the Year and Former vocalist with the Rock and Roll Hall of fame group “The Coasters."
Rounding out the quartet are bassist KEN NORIYUKI OKADA, STEVE HECKMAN on sax, and drummer AKIRA TANA. Each of these artists have also recorded and toured with noted masters of jazz.
This is the SECOND in a Spring series of concerts at the Cameo Cinema, showcasing world-class, internationally acclaimed musicians who reside in the Bay Area.
Concessions will feature Napa Valley wines and treats curated by Cathy Buck for the performance. Sell out risk high.
