“Nightmare on Main Street” invites you to join physical anthropologist us on Saturday, November 2 at 4:00 pm for a very special screening of “Ghosts of Napa Valley.” Explore what is it about our brains, our psychology and our culture that has us excited to get scared?
Following the film Dr. Scott will be in attendance to unravel the science of being afraid, one scare at a time.
About “Ghosts of Napa Valley:”
From James Beard Award-winning Director, Jason Wise, the film follows sommelier Claire Coppi, wine writer Shakera Jones, and winemaker Meghan Zobeck as they search for answers to an enduring mystery in one of the world’s most renowned wine regions.
About Dr. Scott:
For decades, Eugenie Dr. Eugenie“Genie” Scott has led the Bay Area Skeptics, promoting scientific skepticism in the San Francisco area. Dr. Scott, a physical anthropologist, is a member of the Board of Advisers for Scientific American magazine and is a founding Board member of Wonderfest, the Bay Area Beacon of Science.
She has been profiled in The New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, and Scientific American and received numerous awards for her service as a science communicator, including the Public Welfare Medal of U.S. National Academy of Sciences
