About the film:
When he pours, he reigns. Cocktail (1988) is beloved as a peak 1980s guilty pleasure, driven by Tom Cruise’s magnetic charisma, stylish showmanship, and a nostalgic soundtrack featuring "Kokomo". It showcases a quintessential "hot shot" rags-to-riches story, featuring flashy bottle-tossing, romance, and iconic, quotable lines about ambition. The film captures the neon-soaked, high-energy atmosphere of the era and turned bartending into a performance art. The choreographed bottle-flipping scenes weren’t in the original script. After Cocktail, all over the world people were doing the Hippy Hippy Shake and smashing bottles of vodka on their kitchen tiles! As one of his early career-defining roles, it highlights his ability to play ambitious, charming characters, cementing his status as the "coolest guy of the 80s".
Meet Jeremy Buck:
Jeremy Buck is a Charleston-based restaurateur and beverage expert known for founding Coterie, an Indian-fusion eatery. With an extensive background in bartending across New York, Hong Kong, and India, including opening the acclaimed Miss T in Mumbai (2018), Buck focuses on creating balanced, cohesive, and experiential dining and cocktail experiences
Food Experience: Jamerikan Jerk brings the bold, vibrant flavors of the Caribbean to the table with authentic Jamaican street-food favorites. Known for their smoky jerk spices, savory marinades, and island-inspired dishes, they serve up food that’s as lively and memorable as the music at the party. Expect big flavor, a little heat, and a taste of Jamaica that perfectly complements a night of cocktails, dancing, and celebration.
Irie Rockerz
Bringing feel-good energy and irresistible rhythms, Irie Rockerz is a Northern California reggae band known for turning any room into a dance floor. Blending reggae with touches of rock, R&B, and hip-hop, the group draws inspiration from both Humboldt County and Jamaica, creating a sound that’s upbeat, soulful, and impossible not to move to. Their mission is simple: spread love, unity, and joy through music—and make sure everyone has a great time doing it.
